At Tomato Pie, for instance, the setting is both cool and cosy, with huge windows on two sides overlooking Osborne and Wardlaw, walls that are partly blue-green, partly exposed brick, and handsome black chairs upholstered in purple ultra-suede. The food is homestyle, southern Italian, based on good, fresh ingredients, expertly prepared.
The menu proclaims "we use tons of garlic," and should be taken at its word...
The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday, and will be closed for vacation from March 16 to April 14, 2009.
